The evil United States strikes again, according to the supporters of Julian Assange – well, mainly segments of the British left. Those who argue and combat against sexism and declare themselves as “feminists” (in some cases) have justified Assange’s belief he should not face trial over rape allegations. Self declared Patron Saint of anti-imperialism, anti-West and anti-America has mutated and distorted the minds of some sane people.

Rape allegations are a smoke screen (apparently) to have Assange executed by the US Federal Government, even though the European Union DOES NOT extradite individuals who risks facing the death penalty. And Britain and Sweden would have to both sanction his transfer to the United States, which the Swedes have no interest in. In other words, this will not occur – unless European governments want to engage in arduous battles at the European Court of Human Rights.

Even so, his supporters continue the conspiracies and even begun to define what is rape…..

Tony Benn, former Labour minister, and George Galloway have interrupted the definition of rape, in order to depict the West as ‘being in the wrong’. This mentality that Western capitalist society is so evil, that every decision and action is a clandestine conspiracy is highly absurd, and grotesquely insulting. It is logical fallacy; moral equivalence of the worse kind.

One individual told a Channel 4 news reporter that, with his good looks, Assange “didn’t need to rape”. I’m literally speechless. These are the same individuals who demand American soldiers face war crime proceedings for allege sexual abuses incidences in Iraq and Afghanistan. As I said before, West = evil and Assange = good.

Just like the Stop the War Coalition, who said Bin Laden’s grievances needed to be “addressed” after the United States announced his death. The group came close to legitimising the belligerent existence of Al Qaeda because the West failed to listen to the terrorist organisations propaganda. The American government was, in their eyes, to blame for all the terrorist incidents – not the actual terrorists, who orchestrated decades of bombings.

Julian Assange, like 9/11 and the Iraq War, has become an avatar of Western conspiracies and a symbol of anti-globalisation, which majority of his supporters spend their time protesting against. If Assange did not exist, Hugo Chavez or Field Casto would be rallying point; in other words, Julian Assange is the contemporary Che Guevara.

And like Cult of Che Guevara, followers ignore the allege crimes because of what Julian represents and fights against.

The leader of Syriza party yesterday sent a letter to European officials arguing against current austerity policies. Tsipras, who is likely to be the next Premier of Greece, has put Greece on a path of confrontation with the ECB, Eurogroup and other European Union bodies.

Below, is the translated letter.
Notification:

President of European Central Bank Mario Drago
President of the Eurogroup Jean-Claude Juncker

Athens, Thursday 10 May 2012

Dear Mr. President,

I am sending you this letter after receipt of the exploratory mandate from the Greek President to ascertain the possibility of forming a Government enjoying the confidence of Parliament, under our Constitution. This letter builds upon the previous letter I sent on 21 February.

The vote of the Greek people Sunday May 6th nullifies/delegitimizes/makes illegal the political Memorandum of Understanding / Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policy signed by the previous Papademos government and the leaders of two political parties that had guaranteed the parliamentary majority of his government. Both parties recorded a loss of roughly 3.5 million votes, totaling 33.5% share of total votes.

Please note that before this, the MoU / MEFP had already been delegitimized in terms of its potential for economic success. But it’s not just that the Memorandum of Understanding / MEFP failed to achieve its own objectives. It has also failed to address the structural imbalances and inequalities of the Greek economy. SYRIZA noted over the years the inherent weaknesses of the economy. All governments who work closely with the European Union ignored our recommendations for specific reforms.

Please also note that because of the policies of the Memorandum of Understanding / MEFP, Greece in 2012 is the only European country to endure its fifth successive year of deep recession during peacetime. Moreover the Bond Exchange Program (PSI) has failed to ensure the long-term viability of Greek debt which continues rising as a share of GDP. Austerity can in no way be the cure to recession. Therefore the immediate, socially just, reversal of the continuous decline of our economy is imperative.

We must urgently ensure economic and social stability in our country. For this purpose, we must take every political initiative to reverse the austerity and recession. Because apart from the lack of democratic legitimacy, continuing a program of internal devaluation is leading economy to catastrophy without creating conditions for recovery. The internal devaluation tends to lead to a humanitarian crisis.

Thus we need to rethink the entire context of the existing strategy, since it not only threatens Greece’s social cohesion and stability, but is also a source of instability for the European Union and the EuroZone itself.

The common future of the European peoples is under the threat of such catastrophic choices. It is our deeply held belief that the economic crisis is of a European nature, and thus the solution must be found at the European level.

Sincerely,

Alexis Tsipras

President K.O SYRIZA

Vice President of the European Left Party

“We’re living through amazing times. For anyone on the Left… it’s like an orgasmic wet dream. Think about it: Capitalism in crisis again; unemployment’s on the rise and so is inflation.”

Labour Shadow Cabinet John Trickett MP

In the 1980s, the left lost the argument on the economy; it resorted to vituperative, belligerent language and  mass hysteria to denounce Margaret Thatcher’s economic reform. The Labour party opposed, outright, any tax cut and privatisation that occurred throughout the period.  People embraced the idea of ownership democracy, popular capitalism and the expansion of credit; we all had a chance to achieve our aspirations and dreams, yet the left predicted catastrophe.

It never happened. The country become one of the richest and the centre of global finance in the world. In 1994, under the guiding hand of Tony Blair, Labour embraced markets and the private sector. The left lost. And, in 2012, they’re losing again, but this time on social policy.

Workfare, welfare, education and health reforms have all been opposed by the left, post-May 2010. scaremongering and mass hysteria has returned to the front of all arguments on the left; apparently, the NHS will be abolished, but my GP has ensured me I do not require a credit card or any other form of payments for my appointment on Monday. The NHS is, and still will be, free and universal. Yet Andy Burnham persists with utter lies and union-esque hyperbole; his behaviour and hypocrisy helped to ensure the safe passage of this bill.

And the left wonders why the Tories have taken the lead in the recent ICM poll and Cameron’s own approval rating is 42%, with a personal 17 point lead over Ed Miliband (on ‘who makes the best Prime Minister). Labour are not trying to fight the 2010 election again, they’re fighting the 1983 election. With similar tactics.

Scotland is a warning to the Labour party, a warning of what happens when a party panders to its most deepest core vote and assumes the country will vote for them; sheer toxic arrogance. Officials within Scottish Labour refused to acknowledge the personal ratings of Alex Salmond and his capability as First Minister; even after the SNP gained a majority under a supposed anti-majority electoral system, Labour still refuse to acknowledge the First Minister.

Tories, Liberal Democrats and the SNP are all in government, passing reforms and changing the country. Labour have drifted to the far left, marching with the SWP and the Communist Party in opposing every cut and reform; Ed Miliband’s strategy is nothing less than a non-occupation UKUncut equivalent, with placards and banners which no one is reading or taking any notice.

In reality, the left are not really providing an alternative – they’re digging a grave, a very deep grave.

The markets hould be free; I passionately defend the right of enterprise and markets. Competition is healthy for the economy and for consumers, we should be given a wider variety of choices without the state picking the ‘winners and losers.’ It is the individual who decides on what is a morally correct business practice. If we disagree with the product or marketing then our business is taken elsewhere.

If the company then fails, then it fails. Capitalism is about profit and loss, winners and losers. Nobody is bailed out.

In other words, laissez-faire is a proud belief of mine.

The banking crisis, however, is unrelated to laissez-faire or even capitalism. Corporatism is the root cause, along with its close (and abusive) relationship with government. Especially political parties. This toxic relationship has weakened our democracy and the economy, too. How can small and medium size businesses compete against government backed corporations? It is unworkable. And we, the consumer, are unable to make conscious choices without the state deciding for us in advance.

How marvelous is this democracy. We cannot get access to elected officials; but lobby firms, energy companies, corporations and bankers can easily knock on the door of Downing Street or the Treasury. I’ll be detained under the Terrorism Act, if I attempted to visit Dave or George.

The Left might be misguided in their solutions, but they understand the causes of this financial crisis; there is no reason why there should not be a united coalition, between Left and Right, against bailouts and corporate influence. The Tea Party has begun to do, just that, with Occupy Wall street.

Markets should be free, along with government and the people it represents.
